  • Psalms 12: "I will lift up mine eyes to the hills from which cometh my help, my help cometh from the lord who made heaven and earth" ....This quote is a mystical attempt to rise out of the basic instincts of the amydila brain (fight/flight/fear/) and ascend into the higher pre-frontal brain. The hill is your skull.....Jesus was crucifed on "Golgotha Hill"...Golgotha means "place of the skull"....And it is believed that the skull of Adam was buried at the crucifixory point of Jesus because it is at the core ouf our humanity...where it meets the threshhold of the divine that we are crucifed and purified in order to become better than what we are. So lifting up your eyes is a meditative affirmation that pulls you out of the depths of your lower nature and into your "christ mind"....your "gnostic awareness" and into your "higher mind."

  • Awareness has no position or opinion to defend - like the infinite ocean that contains all of life and judges none of it – while being the essential nature of all of it. You are This.

  • It's not that the body stops experiencing pain, it's that you stop experiencing the body.

  • As long as we think there is something to get (or something we’ve gotten that we need to hold onto, or identify with, or remain ever-mindful of), we will suffer. When it is recognized that there is literally nothing to get and no one to get it, that is freedom.
    Joan Tollifson
  • Reference points arise spontaneously. They’re not your reference points so why take ownership? Thinking arises spontaneously in much the same manner as breathing does. While it’s much easier to recognise the automatic nature of the body functions, see clearly that the notion of a reference point, or ego is also just a spontaneous occurrence. If there is no investment in it or sense of ownership, then it can’t be a problem. ~ Kalyani

  • Awakening has nothing to do with anything that happens. It is timeless. No one is enlightened as enlightenment is the dissolution of the person or ego-identification.

  • I don't care if you discover some bliss filled samadhi state where you fully understand that you are one with everything..., you are going to come back to a body, a mind, a personality, and pain and death. What then?
