Kalyani Lawry
Residing in Melbourne Australia, Kalyani and Peter are from the householder tradition. They began holding non-dual awakening satsangs in Melbourne in 2009 and in Stockholm the following year, and bring their own unique and complimentary expressions to their teaching and to working deeply with people. They live ordinary lives, working, relating, and sharing their understanding.
Their journey together exploring consciousness began in the early1970s. Both had a keen interest in Kundalini Yoga and Taoism, and they travelled for several years in India and South East Asia studying in numerous monasteries and ashrams. The most significant for them at that time were Buddhadasa Bhikku’s in Thailand, Pak Subuh's (Sufi) community in Java, and Muktananda and Ramana Maharshi's ashrams in India.
They went on to explore some of the Western mystical traditions and trained extensively over a number of years in Jungian dream work. They also continued to undertake programmes in spiritual development as well as personal growth courses such as Est, Holotropic breath, Avatar, Accelerated Learning, Hoffman process, etc.
Kalyani completed a degree in Archaeology, as well as studying Astrology and qualifying as a Psychological Astrology practitioner and teacher.
In 1983, they founded the Centre for Transformation which was renowned for its innovative programmes, meditation courses, full moon chanting sessions and for the retreats and workshops they regularly held. During this period, Peter was also writing and presenting programmes on consciousness for national radio and television, and Kalyani was running her own Astrology school.
In 1987 Peter was invited to train and coach senior business leaders, and this expanded into running company wide cultural change and business transformation programmes in some of the major corporations across Australia. From the mid 1990s, the success of the programmes he was designing, and his reputation for mentoring and transforming leaders expanded internationally, and he has worked with leaders, leadership teams and organisations in more than 20 countries around the world. Peter has over 30 years of experience as a leadership developer, facilitator and mentor and is the founder of DEEP MENTORING deepmentoring.com
Kalyani is an experienced counsellor and mentor and is known for the depth and effectiveness of her work both in Australia and internationally. As a researcher, designer and facilitator at DEEP MENTORING, she has refined her craft over the decades, and brings her characteristic warmth and generosity to all that she does.
Kalyani is the author of Only That published by New Harbinger Press U.S.A. and was a contributing author to Under Capricorn, an anthology of Australian Astrology (1989). She and Peter collaborated on the book A Sprinkling of Jewels
